Photography resources for teachers and students:
The American Oil & Gas Historical Society (AOGHS) has identified a number of digital sources suitable for the limited resolution requirements of our quarterly newsletter, the Petroleum Age.
Most of the hard-copy photographic prints we use come from the collections of AOGHS' member museums around the country. These are rich sources of unpublished images, but the research, time, expense, and effort can be prohibitive. The historical society generally works with specific museums or AOGHS members to find the visual materials aimed at specific articles. -- Bruce Wells, Executive Director
Here are some favorite sites for vintage oilfield photography. Many historic oil patch photographs can be found with basic keyword searches. Hard copies can frequently be purchased from these sites.
