Monthly newsletter for members and energy educators.
The American Oil & Gas Historical Society (AOGHS) is dedicated to preserving U.S. petroleum history. AOGHS website articles and resource links provide historical content about the U.S. petroleum industry to help understand modern energy challenges.

The nation’s oil exploration and production history, which began in August 1859 with the first commercial well in Pennsylvania, can help us make informed decisions about meeting America’s future energy needs. Membership in the historical society is free, but joining as a supporting member is important and greatly appreciated. Launched in 2020, the historical society’s membership newsletter, “Oil & Gas History News,” is emailed the third Wednesday of every month. Oil & Gas History News
